Lamp Desk

West-side ledger

Three places I return to when the block goes quiet: the mall hawker centre, the nature-park path, the long bus along Bukit Batok East.

This is the page I open when the desk lamp is the only light left in the flat. The card rack holds longer notes; the dimmer holds fragments that never became essays. Here I keep the three routes that shape most of my west-side weeks.

The mall hawker centre is where I eat when cooking feels like too much narration. The nature-park path is where I go when the block feels loud even at noon. The bus along Bukit Batok East is how I reach both without pretending I enjoy rushing.

I do not rank these places. They simply anchor the ledger — proof that ordinary Singapore still has corners slow enough to think in.
